Ring
Around Carers offers you the chance to meet with other carers once
a week, on the telephone, for three quarters of an hour.
The
meetings are in complete confidence - and they're totally free of
charge.

"This
is a social or friendship group without leaving home," says
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield's Action Desk producer Andy Kershaw.
"The
subject matter of the conversations is really up to members of the
group - you can discuss anything from football and gardening to
last night's EastEnders."
"Everything,
in fact, except illness or caring," Kershaw says.

No
special equipment is required - just a phone |
The
campaign is running throughout the whole of June and is aimed at
people who care - at least some of the time - for a relative or
friend, who could be disabled or chronically sick.
After
filling in a simple application form, carers are grouped with around
six other people who'd also like to meet at that time on the chosen
day, for a 12 week period.
They
then meet up regularly on the phone at home, with a host selected
by the Community Network.
If you'd like a Ring Around Carers application pack, fill in your
