Rosie's Oboe

Rosie, a student at Newcastle-under-Lyme school plays the oboe - and wondered, 'Why doesn't everyone play the oboe?' She decided to find out.

Rosie can honestly say that she 'plays an endangered species'... and that's not a claim many people can make!

"I wasn't too sure about it when I started... it sounded like a dying duck."

The reason she can say it is because she plays the Oboe - and the oboe is one of six musical instruments to have endangered species status because there aren't enough people learning them. But why doesn't everyone play the oboe?.. She went to find out.
