Sutton Hoo

Sutton Hoo is one of Britain's most important archaelogical sites, ranking in historical significance with Stonehenge. The burial ground of the Anglo-Saxon pagan kings of East Anglia, was excavated in 1938/9, in the late 1960s and again in the late 1980s to uncover numerous and now famous treasures.
