Jem Allan

Suffolk's own David Gray?

Jem Allan

Jem Allan has been playing the guitar for years but has only now recorded his first solo album, as a rockier version of David Gray.

Jem first picked up a guitar at the age of 13 and despite also achieving Grade 5 on piano, the guitar has remained his weapon of choice.

"The vocal is pretty strong and commercial with a hint of early Marty Pellow about it. Just listening to Jem and his guitar is an enjoyable experience."

Mini Review

Veteran of a number of bands, he has a wealth of songwriting and performance experience behind him but his new album "Brand New Star" is his first recording as a solo artist.

He describes his music as "David Gray with powerful rock vocals" with tracks ranging from mellow piano based ballads to rockier numbers with a full backing band.

He claims his music offers something for everyone but what do you think?
