The أغر؟´«أ½ World Service Corporate Governance Framework



أغر؟´«أ½ World Service is funded by a Parliamentary Grant-in-Aid, administered by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the British government.

Operationally, أغر؟´«أ½ World Service is part of the أغر؟´«أ½. The FCO, in close consultation with أغر؟´«أ½ World Service, is involved in the process of deciding which languages are broadcast, but production and editorial control rests entirely with the أغر؟´«أ½.

The relationship between أغر؟´«أ½ World Service and the FCO is governed by two documents: the Broadcasting Agreement, which sets out the aims and objectives of أغر؟´«أ½ World Service and provisions for performance assessment; and, the Financial Memorandum, which sets out the financial arrangements.

The أغر؟´«أ½ World Service Board is operationally responsible for complying with these two documents.

Within the أغر؟´«أ½ ultimate responsibility for أغر؟´«أ½ World Service is vested in the أغر؟´«أ½ Trust, which is the sovereign body of the corporation. The أغر؟´«أ½ Trust and the أغر؟´«أ½ executive Board ensure that أغر؟´«أ½ World Service operates responsibly and maintains high standards of editorial integrity and content.

The respective responsibilities of the أغر؟´«أ½ Trust and the أغر؟´«أ½ executive Board relating to the operation of أغر؟´«أ½ World Service are outlined in a protocol published by the أغر؟´«أ½ Trust.
