Natalie Ahmadzadeh
Nathalie is an Edinburgh based Swedish-Azari Iranian screenwriter. She’s an alumnus of EIFF’s Talent Lab, Le Groupe Ouest’s Less is More Scottish residency programme, and GFF’s Mentorship programme, where she was mentored by Alice Birch. Her writing has been recognised by schemes such as A Thousand Stories, Shore Scripts, and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Writers. Nathalie co-wrote the short I BEFORE E, which is executive produced by Sixteen Films, and received early development funding from Screen Scotland for her feature film WOLVES.
Alongside her writing Nathalie works as a HETV script editor.
Being bilingual, she writes in both Swedish and English, and her work in Sweden includes a feature with award-winning director Daniel Fridell. Nathalie writes in several genres and formats, but is particularly passionate about stories regarding female sexuality and cultural identity. Her voice borders between the hilarious and horrific, and she often blends genres in her work.

Zoë Bullock
Zoë is a writer and performer from Sheffield based in Glasgow. Her playwriting credits include NIGHT, IDIOT (A Play, A Pie & A Pint/Traverse Theatre/Aberdeen Performing Arts), SHŌ & THE DEMONS OF THE DEEP (IAP/National Theatre of Scotland), and GRACIE & THE START OF THE END OF THE WORLD (AGAIN) (Assembly Festivals, ART Award Winner, Scottish Theatre Bright Spark Award Winner, Popcorn Award Nominee, currently in series development). Her work has been described as “ingenious†(The Scotsman) and “original, deliciously surreal†(The Stage).
Zoë is also a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian’s TV Writing MA, and her short screenplay THE AIR WE BREATHE was commissioned by the BFI Network/Screen Scotland before winning Grand Prize for The Script Lab’s Screenplay Contest, from >11,700 international entries. Amongst others, she has been supported by The TV Foundation, BAFTA, Playwrights’ Studio Scotland, Glasgow Film Festival, Le Groupe Oueste and the Alpine Fellowship. Her work is genre-led, tragi-comic and thematically wide-ranging, though she’s particularly interested in exploring the intersection between climate crisis, class warfare, and human survival.
Zoë is represented as an actor by Arrowsmith Pacey.

Stephen Downs
Stephen is a screenwriter from Bonnybridge with a passion for writing drama for television. He gravitates towards telling authentic, character-driven stories, often centred around complex relationships and families in crisis, frequently influenced by his work in the field of addiction.
Prior to participating in ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Voices, he reached the top 3% of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Open Call twice in the last three years, he was longlisted for the Channel 4 New Writers Scheme 2024 and made the top 20% of the All3Media New Writers Collective 2025. He has placed in the Austin Film Festival, been a semi-finalist in the Screencraft TV Pilot competition and a PAGE Awards finalist in the TV Pilot category. In addition to writing for television, Stephen's short play 'ENJOY EVERY SANDWICH', has been performed by Scriptwriters & Co, SIK Productions, and most recently, by MONA Theatre Company at The Place Theatre in Bedford. His short play about men's mental health, 'A Friend At The End', was also performed by Scriptwriters & Co at their Autumn 2024 scratch night.
Stephen has several projects he is currently developing and is now seeking representation.

Will Evans
Will is a writer, director and performer from Aberdeen, now based across Edinburgh and Glasgow.
For the past three years, his work has mainly been performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, starting with his debut gig-theatre play HAPPIER DAZE - devised and performed with RIFF Theatre. His surreal, farcical comedy-drama BADGER had a very successful run at the 2024 Fringe, and he is currently working on a show for the 2025 Fringe - NOTE OF CONCERN, written and performed with Jordan Monks.
His work is rarely completely serious, but is always very personal. He especially enjoys writing morally grey characters and the relationships they have with others, and has never believed in entirely happy endings - despite the sense of whimsy his stories often carry.
He is developing multiple projects and is currently seeking representation.

Hannah Grego
Hannah is an emerging writer based in Edinburgh. She studied Screenwriting alongside her MA Hons in French Literature (for which she won the F. C. Green Prize) followed by an MSc in Film, all at the University of Edinburgh.
She is a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, and after more than a decade running a successful writing and editing business, she has recently found the confidence to send her first novel, BROKEN TREES, as well as her debut stage play, HOUSEBOUND, out into the world.
Hannah is currently developing a female-centred, gritty crime drama for TV, as well as working on the third of a trilogy of plays.
She enjoys employing a darkly comic tone to tackle themes including mental illness, family dysfunction and imbalances of power, and uses the dialects of her native North Yorkshire and adoptive Scotland to give a voice to characters who might otherwise go unheard.

Philip Johnstone
After growing up in a small West Highland village, Phil worked offshore in the oil industry with his job also taking him to unique environments such as Faslane naval base. He’s now based in Glasgow where he teaches at a vocational college. During all of this he gained an MA Screenwriting from the Screen Academy Scotland.
During his time at the Screen Academy Philip wrote the sci-fi short VIRTUALLY HAPPENING, was runner-up in the FilmG competition with the drama ABANDONED and wrote a comedy webisode for the independently produced series STRAIGHT WHITE MAN. FOOL’S GOLD his crime drama set in the Highlands was shortlisted for 2024’s ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scripted and longlisted (awaiting news on further progress) for this year’s Grass Routes prize.
He’s currently working on a number of writing projects and is writer-producer on a short film that will be completed over the summer. Phil is looking to move to the next stage of his career by collaborating with producers and finding the right agent.

Jenny Knotts
Jenny is a playwright and librettist from Glasgow.
Her writing often leans towards the darkly comic and she loves to create heightened worlds to examine and critique the increasing absurdity of modern life.
She won the inaugural David MacLennan Award, resulting in the production of her play HOME. Her play THE GOOFOS PRESENT… was shortlisted for the Kings Cross Award. Her play HOW THE DODO DIED AND OTHER STORIES, commissioned by LAMDA, was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting and Stückemarkt at the 2020 Theatertreffen in Berlin. In 2024, her play REACH FOR THE STARS was shortlisted for the Victoria Wood Playwriting Prize for Comedy and the St Andrews Playwriting Award.
Jenny is currently working with the Citizens Theatre Young Company to create a show about the Close Theatre Club.

Jack MacGregor
Jack is a playwright and director from the north of Scotland.
A graduate of the University of the Highlands & Islands, Jack is the award-winning writer-director of political dramas NIGHTLANDS and EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN, the latter winning both a Fringe First and Scottish Arts Club Leading Light Award during the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe.
Jack has been a resident artist with the National Theatre of Scotland, an associate artist with Dogstar Theatre Company, and was a fellowship writer for the Scottish Society of Playwrights 50th anniversary, awarded with a Playwright Studio Scotland's Self-Led Project grant and an MGCfutures Bursary for writing.
Jack recently showcased new work at the Tron Theatre, Eden Court Theatre, and the Cromarty-based artist collective "We Have Questions". His work is rooted in contemporary political drama that takes audiences to unexpected landscapes with unlikely protagonists, reimaging and reframing conflicts within Scotland and around the world."

Joe McCann
Joe is a black writer from Glasgow. He is compelled to tell stories about the black working-class experience. His works include DENTED LITTLE FACES (Art School), LACE UP (Traverse Theatre), THINGS MY WHITE FRIENDS SAY (The Tron) and THE CHARCOAL ROOMS (Traverse theatre).
THE BOOKIES, a black comedy he co-wrote, had a hugely successful run at Dundee Rep. The Bookies was recently revived and won a Pick of The Fringe at last year’s Edinburgh festival.
His play, ALFÖLD was directed by Dominic Hill as a part of A Play, A Pie and A Pint’s 2022 autumn season. It was nominated for a CATS award. Joe’s latest piece was commissioned by The National Theatre of Scotland. Joe is a part of Story Platform, a monthly live comedy show produced by Jemma Rodgers. He was attached to The Traverse Theatre as part of the prestigious Traverse 50.
Joe lives in Edinburgh with his wife, Virág and his son, Atlas.

David Patterson
David is an actor and writer who splits his time between London and Glasgow. Originally from Erskine, he studied at the University of St Andrews before embarking on a career as a lobbyist in Westminster. Swapping the real-life drama for the imagined, David trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, graduating in 2022.
His award-nominated debut play, THE OLD QUEEN’S HEAD, toured the UK in 2024, garnering critical acclaim with an array of 5-Star reviews during its run with Assembly at the Edinburgh Fringe. The production was also a finalist for the London Pub Theatre Awards in the Solo Show Category. His next piece, HEN DO(OM), is in development and due to be performed in Spring 2026.
David's writing explores themes of identity, community, and belonging, weaving together the humorous and heartfelt to tell uplifting stories.
