Capgras Theatre Company is launching Split – a writing lab for experimental new work – on Saturday November 22nd at 7.30pm at Omnibus Theatre in Clapham.
Capgras is a collective of emerging writers, actors, and directors who seek to playfully experiment and create new ways of telling stories. They're looking for collaborators who are interested in leaving established ideas of character, structure, and form at the door, and trying something different.
The lab would consist of several short pieces/extracts/rough drafts of new writing performed in Omnibus’ upstairs space, followed by discussion, drinks, and music - a relaxed opportunity to expand your creative community in London. (To submit, you must be London based.)
So if you have a piece of work that:
- · takes a creative risk
- · does not fit neatly into any particular genre/medium of writing
- · can be read/performed with minimal setting/tech
- · is up to 20 minutes in length
then they’d like to hear from you!
The deadline to submit is Wednesday, November 5th at 5pm. They will be in touch with decisions within the week. If you are not chosen, do not despair! They are already planning further labs/events in the future, so they’d love to meet you at the event anyway. They're also looking for actors and directors who would like to take part in the event. 4) Who will be directing and/or performing. You have the option to do one or both yourself, but please let us know if we need to connect you with a creative team.
