The rapidly changing broadcasting landscape, technological developments, and demographic changes in Wales will be the subject of discussion at a seminar hosted by Professor Elan Closs Stephens ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ National Trustee for Wales today (Friday 21 November). The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Trust’s Audience Council Wales is bringing together around 50 key individuals in the media and public life from all parts of Wales for a seminar on “Serving All Audiences” at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff Bay. There will be keynote speeches from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Director of Strategy and Digital, James Purnell, and Director ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Cymru Wales, Rhodri Talfan Davies.

Prof Elan Closs Stephens, who chairs Audience Council Wales said:

"The broadcasting landscape is changing rapidly with technological developments seeming to appear ever more swiftly. What does this mean for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½’s mission in Wales? What does an increasingly diverse population in Wales think the Licence Fee should be providing for it? These are key questions for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Audience Council Wales in ensuring that the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ listens to people in Wales. To do that it must also be clear about what Wales’s population looks like in 2014 and what that means for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½’s TV, radio and online services. We will consider how well the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ currently reflects the many communities that exist in Wales."
