Making content available
The universal nature of the licence fee means that for the Trust, getting ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ services free at the point of use to everyone in a way that is convenient for them is a key priority. It also means that the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ itself needs to reflect the diversity of licence fee payers across the UK.
The Trust oversees the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½’s distribution arrangements, seeking to maintain routes to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ content that are open, accessible, easy to use and convenient as well as representing good value for money.
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ distributes its content through broadcast channels like digital terrestrial television, satellite and cable, and also by making its ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½’s content available on the growing number of other platforms and devices through syndication.
The Distribution framework sets out the principles and requirements that the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ must follow when it looks to make its services on TV, radio and online widely available to audiences.
