Prom 28: Stravinsky – Oedipus rex

Sakari Oramo conducts the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Chorus and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Singers in one of the great 20th-century dramatic showpieces – Stravinsky’s vivid and visceral ‘opera-oratorio’ Oedipus rex. In the first half, Brett Dean's Electric Preludes receives its UK premiere with soloist Francesco D'Orazio, and the concert opens with Beethoven’s beloved Egmont overture.
