Lynn
Ede used to be an English teacher, in fact she used to teach it
as a foreign language abroad.
Today
however, she has waved goodbye to all that, left her grammar and
English books behind in order to concentrate on her new career as
a full time artist.
Lynn
now runs her own business producing and selling original artwork.
Why buy a print when you can buy an original
for the same price? |

"It's
a scary step moving from a full time job into the unknown but so
far it looks promising," said Lynn.
Lynn
describes her work as, "abstract, contemporary, modern art,"
and examples can be seen on the first floor of Dr Fosters at Gloucester
Docks.

According
to Lynn, "My aim is to bring original art to everyone at an
affordable price. Very often you can buy prints for the same price
as an original piece of work.
"So
why buy a print when you can buy an original piece for the same
price?"
Abstract
Expressionism
Like
early 20th Century Russian artist Mark Rothko, Lynn's work is best
described as abstract expressionism although some of her latest
offerings have a Lowery-esque quality to them.

Extremely
passionate about her work Lynn still remains business minded about
the whole art venture.
"I
love painting, I've always loved it ever since I was a little girl.
It's a passion I have but I also have to make a living."
Art
on loan
The
latest addition to Lynn's business is an artwork loan service where
clients can rent work and exchange it at agreed intervals.
"I'm
trying to appeal to businesses to lease my artwork and they can
then change the piece of art for another original canvas six months
later.
"It's
good for the corporate image and it's also good for the staff who
get to see constantly changing original art."
