Seven Down the Severn charity appeal

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire's midmorning presenter, John Rockley, is spending seven days walking down the River Severn with members of seven local charities hoping to raise £7,000 for them. He'll be broadcasting his programme live from seven places along the route and staying overnight in pubs and listeners' homes.

Worthwhile appeal

The seven charities that John Rockley is aiming to raise cash for are:

  • Meningitis Trust
  • Pied Piper Appeal
  • Spring Centre
  • Winston's Wish
  • Cotswold Care
  • Cobalt Appeal
  • SARA
The River

The walk will begin outside Tewkesbury Abbey at 1pm on Sunday 5th September, mostly following the Severn Way alongside the east bank of the river, and finish at the SARA HQ, Sharpness, on Saturday 11th September.

To raise the necessary amount for the seven charities , John Rockley will be relying on your help.

The Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society has agreed to set up a special account, called Seven Down the Severn, where members of the public can pay in money at any branch in the county.

John Rockley hosts the mid morning show 09.00 - 12.00 Monday to Friday on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Gloucestershire (104.7FM and 1413AM Countywide. 95FM in Stroud and 95.8FM in Cirencester and the South Cotswolds).
