QUAD FORCE - THE RETURN!

Work on transforming the quadrangle at Central Technology College is continuing apace - thanks to our dedicated bunch of Voices volunteers.

The Ground-Force-meets-Changing-Rooms makeover at Gloucester's Central Technology College is really starting to lick the quad into shape.

The task force of volunteers from the community action team at Cheltenham & Gloucester turned up with spades, shovels, secateurs and wheelbarrow-loads of enthusiasm to continue the work they had begun three weeks earlier.

FACTS

+ Central Technology College is one of three secondary schools and 20 primary schools in the Gloucester Education Action Zone, part of the Government’s initiative to raise standards and revive inner city communities.

Stage two saw the team:

- digging more flower beds

- clearing more rubbish

- weeding paths

- creating a boules pitch

- working on the amphitheatre

- finishing the giant chessboard

- sprucing up seating areas

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Director General Greg Dyke paid a visit and was impressed by the progress

There is still lots more work to be done but the transformation scene is well on its way.

On a recent visit to Gloucester, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Director General saw for himself the work that is going on at Central Technology College and met pupils and staff.
