Memories of Mrs Ishbel Stevens (nee Turnbull)
The office at Dibbens (St.Mary’s Road) was closed after being hit by incendiaries (2/12/1940) and we were set up in a nice house in Westbury Crescent (off The Avenue) which actually was very pleasant with a nice garden. We had to try and contact our suppliers for records, as although all files and papers had been stored in a fireproof chest each night, the heat of the fire had scorched them to a black and brown mess.
