My father was in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard in Healing. He was a telegraphist for the railway and this was what was known as a reserved occupation. He became colour sergeant in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard and I have copies of letters thanking him for his service.
