Similar to the game Consequences, The Exquisite Corpse was an 'automatic' game played by Surrealists. It involved one person drawing, or writing, something on a piece of paper, and then folding it to conceal their work from the next player. The next participant would then continue the drawing without seeing the original piece. The aim of this was to create odd conjunctions, both humorous and poetic, and without preconceived thought.

We asked artists including Grayson Perry, George Melly and Phillipe Starck to create an Exquisite Corpse exclusively for Imagine... See the surreal results by clicking on the images belowÌýor viewing the gallery.
