When
asked what makes modern life so stressful, some people got quite
philosophical.
Marc
Hough is from New York. He says: "Knowing what you want in
life and the future is stressful."
Radka
Kroussaniotakis thinks that society is to blame for the high levels
of stress today. That, and peoples' desire to keep up with the Joneses.
She
says: "The standards that are applied to people make life stressful.
For example, every person is trying to reach or exceed the average
salary figure.
"It
forces everybody into a speedy, horrible, stressful life."
Not
surprisingly, students say money was the biggest worry for them.
Joe
and Simon are at Leeds College of Music. They say: "Not having
enough money is the biggest stress for us. If we had more money,
we wouldn't be stressed!"
Only
a couple of people we spoke to said that they were stress-free.
They were housewife, Jennifer Barron and researcher, Sally Waples.
Jennifer
Barron from Penshaw says: "I'm not a person that lets stress
get to me. It's all about keeping a grip on yourself."
Sally
Waples shares the secret of her success in having a stress-free
life. She says: "I hang out with people that make me laugh
a lot!"
