New
romantic fop, pseudo soul boy, call him what you like.
But when all is said and done, Gary Kemp did pen some of
the best
songs of the eighties and was the driving force behind the last
British pop movement to make it big Stateside.
With True, Gold and Chant No1 underneath his belt, when he left
Spandau Ballet Kemp was perfectly poised to clean up on the writing
front.

But
it was his blistering performance as psychotic Ronnie Kray in The
Krays that he'll be remembered for post-Spandau.
Parts in The Bodyguard, Killing Zoe and Dog Eat Dog
followed and recent years have seen him writing for other artists
and appearing in the play Art.
Gary C got all misty eyed with Gary K as they talked about new wave,
the new romantics and the 80s London music scene.
