Dubbed
"The best band in Britain" by the NME just over a decade
ago, before they'd even released a note of music, Suede have always
been surrounded by hype and rumour, some good, some bad.
Over the years there have been a number of line-up changes and changes
to their sound, from the tragic to the cheerfully romantic.
Their often predicted demise has as yet failed to materialise, and
when Bett Anderson and Mat Osman met Gary they looked tanned, chirpy,
and anything but the sickly indie boys of yore.
