
Md. Al Mamun is a Co-Regional Director for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action Asia-Pacific and continues to serve as Country Director for Bangladesh. Since taking on the leadership of the Bangladesh office in 2020, he has overseen all country operations, including the organisation’s humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar, providing strategic direction across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Mamun joined ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action in 2012 and has held several key roles. As Senior Project Manager (2017–2020), he led national programme delivery, strategic planning, business development, and donor engagement. Prior to that, he headed the Bangladesh office’s research portfolio, with a strong focus on qualitative and production-oriented research that informed evidence-based communication strategies.
Before joining ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action, Mamun worked as a public health researcher at ICDDR,B (formerly known as International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh) and served as a freelance researcher for Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
He holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka. A strategic leader with a strong foundation in research and programme delivery, Mamun is committed to using media and communication to improve lives and drive positive change across South Asia.
