Steph McGuckin

Steph McGuckin was born in Magherafelt, Co. Derry and has been writing from a young age. She moved to Belfast in 2004 to pursue a degree in English and Film Studies. After graduating, she decided to develop her hobby of writing poetry into a career. Her aim is to become a published author.

Preach Me by Steph McGuckin

Prayer never comes into it.
Any pursuit
Any journey
Any future,
Always lacked three important travellers.

I seen others rely on faith
To aid
To persuade
To guide,
And envied the higher power as a pillar to lean on.

I am a wayward believer
And yes I doubt
The beginning,
The source,
And what it’s all about.Ìý

Despite my cynicism and disbelief
I just can’t seem to shake
The worry,
The concern,
The impending mistake;

He is standing in my garden waiting
And I refuse to look out the window.Ìý
