episodes on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO from Tuesday 28 May accompanied by further opportunities
to step into history on .
"Each episode has a tough centre," explains Simon Schama,
"Nature and evolution; the lives of women in the industrial

does Britain need."
These final programmes weave a rich tapestry of the people and events
that influenced the making of modern Britain. Filmed across the
UK, France, Ireland and India - at stunning locations and national
heritage sites - the programmes are populated not just with kings
and queens, but with philosophers and poets, artists and artisans,
the common man and the new woman, the thinkers and the doers.
