Introduction

Do you have a passion for writing, do you know your garage from your dancehall, are you a great storyteller or performer, are you full of fresh, distinctive ideas and are you good enough to cut it with the industry's best?

Ìý

If so, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent's five schemes launched today offer up to 61 opportunities in ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ broadcast media this year.

Ìý

These include:

Ìý

• 1Xtra is looking for six DJs who are passionate about urban music to host a live programme and co-present a specialist programme, working alongside likes of G Money, Seani B, Ras Kwame and Laeticia SD

Ìý

• ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ THREE is looking for sitcom writers for a 30 minute contemporary comedy, including a showcase at a top London theatre and master classes with well known comedy names

Ìý

• Radio 3 is searching for two radio presenters, one based in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland, with a diverse range of musical interests and a desire to extend their knowledge in the classical music genre

Ìý

• ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO is offering one boy and one girl the chance to star in a new opera based on the fairytale The Little Prince. They are also searching for 25 to 30 young singers and performers for the chorus and will include a stage show at Sadlers Wells

Ìý

• Radio Wales is looking for writers and storytellers based in Wales.

Ìý

Further details of all the schemes can be found on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent website - - or by calling the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent Hotline on 08700 106060.

Ìý

Entry forms are available from 6 March and the closing date for most schemes is 30 May 2004.

Ìý

Since launching in 2000, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent has offered 46 schemes and 585 contracts, showcases and on-screen opportunities.

Ìý

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent executive Lorna Clarke says "The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent schemes are all about raw talent.

Ìý

"We're not looking for formal qualifications or experience, more the kind of passion that's been with you as long as you can remember, the spark of something that makes you lose track of time, forget were you are, stay up later than you should do, get up earlier than you want to.

Ìý

"It's what you enjoy, what you're good at, your dream job if you had your way.

Ìý

"It might be your love of classical music, your passion for R'n'B, or your love of writing.

Ìý

"Either way, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent could be your big chance to shine."
