ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen in Derby is big on love
|
Love is in the air... and also on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen in Derby's Market Place.
Ìý
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Big Screen is giving Cupid a helping hand to ensure Derby becomes the capital of romance on St Valentine's Day, Thursday 14 February 2008, by featuring declarations of love from the people of Derby.
Ìý
Organisers have invited the lovers of Derby to text their tender messages so they can be flashed across the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen on the most romantic day of the year.
Ìý
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Derby is also getting seriously loved up by reading out some of the heartfelt messages on air throughout the day.
Ìý
It is the first time that people have been invited to interact with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen since it was installed in Derby's city centre in July 2007.
Ìý
The new texting facility began on Saturday 9 February and organisers are hoping that the Valentine messages on the screen spread a little love in Derby.
Ìý
Louise Angell, Manager of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen in Derby, says: "Giving the loved up people of Derby the opportunity to show their affections is obviously a match made in heaven."
Ìý
She continues: "We're also delighted that ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Derby has also agreed to read out some of the messages live on air during Valentine's Day so people can hear their romantic declarations as well as see them playing out on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen."
Ìý
Derby's devoted should text "love" plus their brief message to 07786 20 1045. Messages should be kept as brief as possible to enable as many old and new romantics to get their proclamations displayed.
Ìý
Texts are charged at the standard network rate.
Ìý
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Big Screen is a partnership between the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, Derby City Council and the University of Derby.
