Cookery and camaraderie in the countryside kitchen

The Great Food Guys are here to tempt you with their unique brand of kitchen camaraderie, countryside cooking and comprehensive knowledge of the local produce.
Filmed from their specially-created kitchen on the Fasque estate in Fettercairn in Aberdeenshire, their mission is to get you frying, steaming, roasting, poaching and boiling over with renewed knowledge and enthusiasm for cookery.
Each week celebrated chef and food campaigner, Nick Nairn will be introducing us to the wealth of quality produce available on our doorsteps, abley assisted by his comrade in arms, Dougie Vipond, better known for presenting outdoor pursuits in Landward and drumming in the band Deacon Blue.
Expect to see recipes inspired by the Scottish larder, using fantastic fish and farm produce, being used to recreate and bring his brand of high-end restaurant, fine dining direct to your dinner table in a mouth watering, yet accessible way.

In the current series which is available on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ iPlayer now, Nick and Dougie continue to delve into Scotland's culinary landscape while introducing us to some of their celebrity friends.
You'll see the guys play host to Scottish literary legends such as crime writer Val McDermid and stars of screen like Jane McCarry, of Still Game fame, and the incredibly funny Greg McHugh from Gary Tank Commander, who is lucky enough to be introduced to Nick's salt chilli squid and Vietnamese dipping sauce.
As Dougie rightly sums up, "It's a wonderful fusion of great food, great flavours and great guests."
