Fir Taileisg Leodhais

Documentary focusing on the enigma of the Lewis Chessmen, the remains of four 12th-century chess sets which were discovered on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides in 1831.

A unique set of chess figures were discovered in mysterious circumstances on the island of Lewis in 1831. Since then they have attracted much interest and intrigued those who have viewed and studied them. They are now in the British Museum and in the Royal National Museum of Scotland. This documentary tells the story of their origin and discovery.
