Behind Closed Doors
The story of the six Sisters of Poor Clare monastery on Cliftonville Road, Belfast, who must decide if they are to obey Canon Law and stay for good, keeping the monastery alive.
The Poor Clare monastery on Cliftonville Road, Belfast, is home to six Sisters. Dedicating their life to prayer, each Sister vows to poverty, chastity, obedience and enclosure. Canon Law says the monastery must have at least five nuns in residence, but only two of the Sisters are permanent members. They have arranged for four Filipina Sisters to come on a temporary basis, but they will have to decide if they are to stay for good and keep the monastery alive.
