4. Clothes on a Beach

Recalling the birth of his famous comedy creation, Reginald Iolanthe Perrin - writer David Nobbs reads from his autobiography.

Comic novelist, script writer and creator of the immortal Reginald Perrin, David Nobbs reads from his 2001 autobiography, ‘I Didn’t Get Where I Am Today’.

In this episode, David recalls the birth of his most famous comedy creation, Reginald Iolanthe Perrin.

In addition to writing ‘The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin’, Nobbs also created ‘A Bit of a Do’ and ‘Shine a Light’, as well as penning twenty novels. He died in 2015, aged 80.
