Semyon Bychkov conducts the 蜜芽传媒 Symphony Orchestra in German composer Detlev Glanert's new piece, Shoreless River, which is a foretaste of his forthcoming opera, Das Holzschiff (The Wooden Ship).

Denis Matsuev, winner of the 1998 Moscow Tchaikovsky Competition and a virtuoso in the grand Russian tradition, makes his Proms debut in Rachmaninov's demanding set of variations on Paganini's Caprice.
