Animation about a time-travelling brother and sister called Garth and Bev, who live in harmony with nature in their village long ago. They are transported to different times and places by the Time Spiral and solve problems with the help of Grandfather Lir.

Garth, Bev and Grandfather Lir have borrowed Morc the Boatman's finest log boat to go for a picnic along the riverbank, but when it vanishes over the waterfall the children have a mystery to solve before Morc finds out. When they figure out the waterfall must have pushed it far downstream, Grandfather Lir sends them on an adventure through the Time Spiral to meet John Harrington, who has used falling water in his own invention... The Flush Toilet!
