At almost 30 miles off the South West mainland, the Isles of Scilly are the most isolated and perhaps the most beautiful islands in Britain, but they have a serious problem when it comes to managing their household waste. They are now, for the first time, under pressure to comply with EU Environmental regulations, but with major investment needed and only 2000 residents from which to raise council tax, the island community is struggling.
