Sir William Patey, British Ambassador to Afghanistan
Sarah Montague speaks with Sir William Patey, Britain's ambassador in Kabul, about the controversy surrounding the parliamentary elections in Afghanistan last month.
The people of Afghanistan are still waiting to hear who won their parliamentary elections last month. The independent election commission has thrown out nearly a quarter of the more than five million votes cast because of allegations of fraud. But the commission itself is being accused of rigging the poll and that's led some to suggest the whole thing should be cancelled and rerun.
Sarah Montague asks Sir William Patey, Britain's ambassador in Kabul, if this is what Afghan democracy is meant to look like.
