Stephen Sackur asks Christina Romer, former head of President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers, if her country needs a new approach to solving its serious economic woes.

But almost two years into Barack Obama's presidency, both he and the Democrats are being blamed for the country's serious economic woes regardless of numerous efforts to turn things around. Until two months ago, Christina Romer was head of President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers. Does America need to radically change course? She talks to Stephen Sackur.
