To mark the 50th anniversary of Patsy Cline's recording of Crazy, Russell discusses the various meanings of the word and its use by the poets of Tin Pan Alley.

This programme springs entirely from the word "crazy" in song. After establishing today as the 50th anniversary of Patsy Cline's famous recording of the Willie Nelson song, Russell discusses the various meanings of the word and its use by the poets of Tin Pan Alley.

He illustrates with help from Mel Tormé (You're Driving Me Crazy) Teddy Grace (Crazy Blues) The Trix Sisters (I'm Crazy Over You), Frankie Vaughan (Hey You With The Craazy Eyes), Paul Simon (Still Crazy After All These Years), Rolf Harris (Football Crazy) and much more, right up to the "most wholeheartedly daffy" one, the one that gave the industry "vo-do-do-deo do" - Crazy Words, Crazy Tune, which we hear sung by "The Original Radio Girl" - Vaughn DeLeath.
