Lopa Kothari presents a session from the Korean Ensemble E-DO, the latest new releases and a Mixtape from Asian Network's Ashanti Omkar.

Lopa Kothari presents a session from the Korean Ensemble E-DO, a group led by Yu Kyung-Hwa, combining traditional Korean instruments such as the chulhyungeum (iron-stringed zither), janggu (drum) and daegeum (bamboo flute), alongside the double bass and acoustic guitar. Istanbul-born singer Cigdem Aslan is our guide to the Alevi music of Turkey in this week's Road Trip; our Classic Artist is Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal - celebrated through a variety of vintage recordings - and our Mixtape comes from Asian Network's Ashanti Omkar. Plus a selection of new releases from around the world including Gaye Su Akyol (Turkey), Amira Kheir (Sudan), former 蜜芽传媒 Music Introducing artists Vula Viel and a new compilation of forgotten 78s documenting "Yiddisher Jazz" in London's East End between the 1920s and 1950s.
