Sarah Vaughan at 100: Joe Webb & Jamie
In the first of a series of tributes celebrating the centenary of 鈥淪assy鈥� Sarah Vaughan, piano player Joe Webb and his Trio perform a cover of Sometimes I鈥檓 Happy at Maida Vale.
To mark what would have been the 100th birthday of singer Sarah Vaughan, this month Jamie is celebrating the legacy of one of jazz鈥檚 most influential singers. He鈥檒l be playing a selection of tracks, both classics and deeper cuts, from her enormous catalogue, and inviting some leading contemporary artists to record special covers of songs made famous by Vaughan.
Jamie gets the ball rolling himself 鈥� collaborating with Welsh pianist Joe Webb and his Trio. Together they perform a cover of Sometimes I'm Happy at the 蜜芽传媒's Maida Vale studios.
