Sarah Vaughan at 100: Judi Jackson
In the second of a series of tributes celebrating the centenary of 'Sassy' Sarah Vaughan, vocalist Judi Jackson performs a cover of Come Rain or Come Shine at Maida Vale.
To mark what would have been the 100th birthday of singer Sarah Vaughan, this month Jamie is celebrating the legacy of one of jazz’s most influential singers. He’ll be playing a selection of tracks, both classics and deeper cuts, from her enormous catalogue, and inviting some leading contemporary artists to record special covers of songs made famous by Vaughan.
In this second of three special programmes, the London-based American vocalist Judi Jackson joins Jamie. She talks about the musical lessons she's learnt from Vaughan and performs two tracks - Come Rain or Come Shine and Black Coffee at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Maida Vale studios.
