Bird Flu update

Third suspected case of bird flu in Northern Ireland, concerns for farmers’ safety and health as working hours increase and a Donegal man cleans up when it comes to shearing.

A third suspected case of blue flu is detected in County Tyrone. Presenter, Nicola Weir, speaks to Conor Bamford, virologist at Queen’s University about how it’s not just a farm concern. The Farm Safety Foundation highlights how farmers’ long working hours are contributing to safety and mental health concerns. An exciting new project by the Woodland Trust starts at Mourne Park, an ancient woodland close to the fishing town of Kilkeel and Nicola speaks to Aaron Magee from Donegal who is travelling the world shearing sheep after giving up his job as a chemist. And finally, it’s a peek inside a thatched cottage in Tyrone which is crammed full of history from the 1700s.
