Director of Music Daniel Hyde conducts a performance of Verdi's popular and dramatic Requiem in King's College Chapel, Cambridge. Verdi wrote it to commemorate the important Italian writer and philosopher Alessandro Manzoni and it was first performed with Verdi himself conducting on the first anniversary of Manzoni's death in May 1874.
