Dr Beynon's Bug Farm
Megan visits Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm to explore insects and a new rural history display. And, at the end of Pride Month, we visit a unique nature project in Carmarthenshire.
This week on Country Focus, Megan Williams travels to Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm in Pembrokeshire to mark the Royal Entomological Society’s Insect Week. She finds out why insects – from pollinators to predators – are vital to our ecosystems, and how the Bug Farm is helping to educate visitors of all ages about their importance. While there, Megan also explores a new exhibition showcasing a remarkable collection of historic rural artefacts, now on permanent display at the site, and hears the story of how these objects came to find a home in St David’s.
Plus, as June marks Pride Month, we visit Carmarthenshire to learn about a new project helping LGBTQ+ individuals connect with nature in a meaningful, inclusive, and creative way – through guided outdoor experiences designed to foster well-being, community, and a sense of belonging.
