Hear Me Out

takes music-making into immigration detention and asylum accommodation in England to release the words, music and life stories of people held inside. We help people inside these centres to express their humanity through music.

Sharing stories and building friendships

Sharing stories and building friendships
The music workshops run by Hear Me Out create a space for people in immigration detention to express themselves, connect with others, and share their stories through music as well as helping to build resilience and confidence.

Meet Kwaku

Meet Kwaku
When Kwaku first came to the UK he was placed into former army barracks while his claim for asylum was processed. With little to do and no one to talk to, it was a lonely time. Then he joined one of the music workshops which Hear Me Out run.

Bringing hope and humanity

Bringing hope and humanity
Thanks to these workshops, Kwaku built connections and friendships, which still last today. As Kwaku says ‘The workshops brought me peace, I am so thankful for them’.
