Lopa Kothari curates a selection of roots-based music marking 50 years of independence for Cabo Verde, S茫o Tom茅 and Pr铆ncipe, and Mozambique. We hear music from Cabo Verde鈥檚 beloved Ces谩ria 脡vora, whose voice brought morna to the world stage, as well as Mozambique鈥檚 Fany Pfumo, a pioneering artist whose work championed his country鈥檚 sound on the global scene. Plus sounds from 脕frica Negra, the iconic band formed just a year before independence in S茫o Tom茅 and Pr铆ncipe and are still touring more than five decades later.
