Kathryn Tickell is joined by cultural ambassador, activist, musician and griot, Youssou N’Dour, for a special conversation celebrating the release of his latest album, Éclairer le Monde. Together, they trace his footprints through the lineage of Senegalese music, from his upbringing singing alongside his mother at religious ceremonies, to his pioneering fusions of the country's traditional mbalax with everything from Cuban rumba to hip-hop, jazz and soul, and finding international success on his own terms.
Plus, Georgian polyphonic singing from Ensemble Marani, a short waltz from Argentinian guitarist Agustin Pereyra Lucena, and a collaboration between British producer Quantic & Colombia’s godfather of champeta, Abelardo Carbonó.
