British folk multi-instrumentalist Angeline Morrison takes the helm of this episode of Music Planet and curates a dazzling selection of global roots-based music, including archive recordings of Creole vocal music from Louisiana and a psychedelic griot song from the forthcoming album of Mauritanian musician Noura Mint Seymali .
Angeline Morrison, who will debut at the ѿý Proms on the 26th of July with a special performance presenting her album The Sorrow Songs: Folk Songs of Black British Experience, has been researching the untold stories of people from the African diaspora and their place in British folk. Her latest album, Ophelia, was released last year.
