Experimental firsts

Verity Sharp starts at square one, with a selection of novel experiments in sound to celebrate First Night of the Proms 2025

Verity Sharp starts at square one with a selection of novel experiments in sound. Marking the First Night of the Proms 2025, Verity embarks on a series of maiden voyages in sound, selecting pioneering sonic experiments from across the spectrum. From the first person to prepare a piano to the first foray into hip hop, via the first drone, the first drain, the first splicing together of extended tape loops and the first noise orchestra, Verity dives into the archives to bring together a Late Junction library of radically innovative sonic novelties.
