Live at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms in Gateshead: Dinis Sousa conducts the Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus with the Huddersfield Choral Society and Voices of the River’s Edge in Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 2 in B flat major, 'Lobgesang'. In the first half, pianist David Fray is the soloist in Bach's Keyboard Concerto No. 1.

Mendelssohn’s Second Symphony is a ‘Hymn of Praise’, an expression of joy and faith, and replete with dances, fanfares and hymns. The dark, sober beauty of Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor offers a stark contrast.
