Guitarist Sean Shibe is joined by a starry cast of friends at the Glasshouse for 'Le marteau sans ma卯tre' given as part of the centenary celebrations of the birth of Pierre Boulez.
Guitarist Sean Shibe, a former Radio 3 New Generation Artist, is joined by starry cast of friends at the Glasshouse, Gateshead, for a performance of 'Le marteau sans ma卯tre' (The Hammer Without A Master) a chamber cantata drawing on words by the great French surrealist poet Rene Char. The work, which is regarded as one of Pierre Boulez's most significant and influential compositions is heard here as part of the Proms' Boulez centenary celebrations. Also on the programme is music by James Dillon and Cassandra Miller. Presented by Sarah Walker.
