Literature a Century in the Making and a Piper’s Dream Come True!

Literature a century in the making, a piper’s dream come true, and saving lives in Lough Neagh.

Helen Mark presents ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show alongside Rab Lennox and Willie Hill.
This week Helen catches up with American writer Margaret McLoughlin who has long and deeply cherished Ulster-Scots roots. Researching her family’s history from Scotland, through Ulster to America across more than a century - often focusing very often on women-folk - she has come up with a historical novel – in five volumes!
Meanwhile, Rab chats with world champion piper Jamie Cupples - who'll be fulfilling a dream by performing at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo this summer while Willie re-visits a much transformed and improved rescue centre on Lough Neagh. As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
