Sara Mohr-Pietsch navigates a path towards the Jazz Suite 1 by Dmitri Shostakovich. It was commissioned in 1934 by a Leningrad dance band, and he wrote it for an extraordinary ensemble including a banjo and an electric Hawaiian lap guitar.
