Episode 6
JB uncovers a book containing a valuable surprise, and Robin saves a wheelbarrow from the scrapheap. But can the team help a family honour their late mum’s final wish?
Auctioneer JB and restorer Robin travel to Edinburgh to meet three siblings who are facing the emotional task of selling their late mother's belongings.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Joan passed away in 2023, leaving a remarkable collection and 17 heartfelt letters for her extended family. In those to her children, she urged them to dispose of her possessions with care. The auction proceeds will fund future family memories that Joan would approve of, including a long-planned trip to the USA.
JB has one day to sift through a collection that took decades to assemble. He uncovers a treasure trove of jewellery, porcelain and model cars. Most excitingly, he uncovers a book containing signatures by The Beatles. Meanwhile, Robin transforms an old wheelbarrow and a charming wooden egg box. He also restores a Second World War helmet to its former glory.
On auction day, JB wields the gavel, but can he raise enough cash to get the family to America?
